We are going to teach you the basics of nutrition, so that you can filter the truth from misinformation. Once you understand the basics you will be able to look at any diet or any nutrition plan and understand why it works for some people and doesn’t work for others. More than that you will be able to take that knowledge and build the body you want.

If you are wanting to have a quick fix this is not for you. We are giving you knowledge, which over time is more powerful than any drug. We want to teach and empower by giving you the understanding you need in order to create the body you want. YOU will be in charge of building your body you want.

In this book we give you all the tools you need to have a foundational understanding of how your body responds to foods. Through this you are able to pick and choose how you want to eat in order to optimize your fitness results.

When I first started my fitness journey I just worked out. I believed that if I worked out then I would see the results I wanted over time. Not true. I went through phases. At first from working out alone I did see results, but then I'd plateau. I didn't gain or lose. Other times I'd hit the weights only to look big and bulky, not very feminine or cut. It was frustrating.

It wasn't until I started understanding the dynamic of food and the body's responses to it that I was able to eat what and how I wanted, and still see dynamic differences in the way I looked, felt and performed in the gym.

While workouts are a huge piece of what I do, like they say, abs are made in the kitchen.

The 5 Pillars of Nutrition

What are the 5 pillars of nutrition? They are Water, Calories, Carbohydrates, Protein, and Fat. When you understand each of these pillars, then you will understand how your body processes food and how to tune it to achieve the body you desire.

Are you thin and have a hard time putting on muscle? That means eating right to allow your body to build muscle. We won’t go into muscle building exercises, that will come in a later book, but we will show you how to tune your diet to gain muscle. When combined with the right exercises you will gain mass.

Are you overweight and want to look good? That means burning fat and building muscle. We will show you how to tune your diet to burn fat while preserving lean muscle mass, and we will show you how to fuel your body to gain mass while not gaining fat.

We want to give you a model to understand nutrition and how it relates to all aspects of health and fitness.

Understand the 5 pillars of nutrition and you will be able to look at any diet, any new nutrition program and understand why it works or doesn’t work for different people. If your goal is to become a bodybuilder, you will understand how to get there. If your goal is to have greater performance and compete as an athlete, you will know the way. If your goal is simply to look and feel better, you will know what you need to do.
